Dana Miriam Kobrin (age 23) started diamond painting in May; she has since completed two pieces and is currently working on her third, pictured. Dana loves art but could not draw nor hold a pencil study due to her dysgraphia –a learning disability that affects, writing, drawing and handwriting. Diamond painting helps her express her creativity and practice art in a relaxing and feasible manner.
As a child, Dana loved creating mosaic collages, but did not have the means to keep buying tiles as an adult. Diamond painting is an affordable yet creative product that keeps her passion for mosaics alive through its color by number quality. She uses a “drill” (the pen) –covered in wax –to pick up individual pieces of plastic diamonds and places them onto the pre-printed adhesive canvas. (Jelena Djakovic/Jour604)
